A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a mans wreckless driving caused a road smash on the B743 between Ayr and Mossblown.
The collision took place yesterday afternoon around 1.15pm near Auchincruive & Nellies Gate after a van with another vehicle.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the road was blocked off causing distruptions to local bus services.
The injured woman was taken by ambulance to Ayr Hopsital.
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 1315 hours today to attend a road traffic incident on Belmont Road, Ayr.
We despatched one ambulance crew to the scene and a female patient in her 40s was taken to Ayr Hospital.”
A male van driver was issued a fixed penalty notice after the incident.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police can confirm that a male driving a van was issued with a fixed penalty notice following an RTC on the B743 on Wednesday 24 April."
