POLICE have been cracking down on speeding in Troon as a man was stopped for allegedly exceeding the limit.
The 33-year-old was stopped at Ottoline Drive at around 4.45pm last Wednesday, April 10 while officers were conducting checks in the area.
He was reported whizzing past in a red mini in excess of the speed limit. Police checked this with a speed detection device and confirmed the same.
The driver was stopped, cautioned and charged and advised that he was being reported to the Procurator Fiscal over the matter.
Locals are asked to be mindful on the roads and drive to the instructed speed limits
