VOLUNTEERS from the Friends of Robert Burns Museum raised money towards the restoration of Burns Cottage with their Mother’s Day Sale.
Having recently completed their last mission to raise money to support the refurbishment of the Burns Monument, the group are now supporting the restoration of the cottage.
One of the volunteers who helped organise the event, Evelyn Preston, said: “We raised just over £200 but we’ve got expenses to come off of that.
It wasn’t as good as previous years but it’s still funds. It was more to do with the weather, it was really, really cold.
“We’ve already given an amount of money to the monument so now we’re trying to do the same for the cottage. All the money raised stays in the local area. It’s for anything going on in the museum grounds.”
