A CREEP who exposed himself in public has avoided being placed on the sex offenders register.
Samuel McRorie of Stonecrop Place in Ayr flashed his genitals in Main Street in Prestwick last month. But his mindless antics were thought to be driven by booze and not any sexual element Ayr Sheriff Court heard.
The 53-year-old appeared last Tuesday, February 26 before Sheriff Desmond Leslie who shamed him for his disgusting behaviour and told him he should know better.
On the same day, January 21, McRorie was found to be behaving in a threatening and abusive manner as he was shouting and swearing and acting aggressively
At one point he was also uttering homophobic remarks.
The flasher was served a Community Payback Order as an alternative to custody, which will be under supervision for a period of 18 months.
He will also have to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work which must be completed in the next six months.
Sheriff Leslie said he was satisfied that there was no significant sexual element involved in the incident
This spared McRorie getting put on the sex offenders register.
Slamming McRorie, Sheriff Leslie told him: “It’s pretty disgusting behaviour from a man of your age.”
