A WOMAN was taken to hospital after she was struck by a truck this morning on a busy Ayr Road.
Police were called to the town's Prestwick Road just before midday after reports of a road traffic collision where a woman had been hit by a vehicle.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland told the Advertiser: "Around 11.45am on Wednesday, February 13, police were called to a report that a 21-year-old woman had been struck by a truck on Prestwick Road, Ayr near to Union Avenue.
"Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
"The 55-year-old male driver of the truck will be subject to a report to the Procurator Fiscal."
