A MAN was thrown off a plane at Prestwick Airport last week for allegedly behaving aggressively to staff and persistently trying to light his cigarette.
Police arrested and charged the 40-year-old on Friday, January 25 after he was reported to be acting disorderly, shouting and swearing and trying to smoke in the airport.
It is claimed he became argumentative with baggage handlers at the check-in desk.
Once on the plane, the man allegedly caused havoc with staff before being asked to leave.
Then, on the runway, he tried again to light his cigarette despite rules prohibiting him to.
Police were contacted to attend the disruption where they arrested the man and held him in custody to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court.
