AN 18-year-old boy has been found dead in a flat in Ayr.
The teenager, who has been named locally as Jake Gilchrist, was found yesterday morning, January 24, at a property in Woodfield Avenue.
Police attended the flat in Prestwick at around 7am and two ambulances arrived shortly after.
Jake’s girlfriend, Kelsey Robertson described Jake as “one in a million” in an emotional tribute to the former Marr College student.
Kelsey posted on Facebook: “Hearts broken. My bestest friend from the start till the end. I’ll always love and miss you Jake! One in a million. Rest in peace my angel.”
A spokesperson from Police Scotland said: "Around 7am on Thursday, January 24, the body of an 18-year-old man was found within a property in Woodfield Avenue, Ayr.
"A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death but it is not thought to be suspicious.
"A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
