IF you are looking for a fun night out to brighten up the January blues it is worth remembering that it’s panto time again on Anglesey.

Oh no it isn’t!

Oh yes it is!

The Amlwch Showstoppers group is presenting a special version of Jack and the Beanstalk as its pantomime production for 2019.

This year the show has been produced and script written by long standing member of the theatrical group Rachel Jones.

Ruth Purton, vice-chair of Amlwch Showstoppers said:

“The script has proved to be a “great success,” for the group this year.

“The members can’t wait to present their new version of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ to the audiences.”

In the story, Jack, Jill and a whole host of colourful characters try to save the kingdom from the “giant”

In true panto fashion, the story follows Jack and his family who have fallen on hard times and have to sell Bessie their beloved cow.

“On their way to market, there is a special meeting which changes the course of future events for Jack and all his family,” said Ruth.

“But how? Well, that would be telling!” She joked.

To find out whether Jack is able save the day or if the giant’s plan will go without a hitch, join the fun.

The three day panto production is on at the Amlwch Memorial Hall on Market Street.

Ruth says the group promises to provide an “amazing fun-filled, fabulously funny re-telling of a familiar favourite.”

The curtain goes up on the opening night of Jack and the Beanstalk, at 7pm, on Friday, January 25.

A second showing is on at 5pm, on Saturday, January 26, and the final show at 2pm, on Sunday, January 27.

The doors will open half an hour before the start. Tickets will be available on the door and are priced at £4 per adult, or £2 for concessions. For a family (2+2) it is £10.

There will also be a raffle, refreshments and a tuck shop available.
