WETHERSPOONS pubs in Ayr and Prestwick are gearing up for a special week of Robert Burns festivity.

The West Kirk in Sandgate and The Prestwick Pioneer will host a full eight days celebrating the life and poetry of the Scottish legend which will feature traditional meals on offer and Scottish whisky.

To mark the occasion, including Burns' Night on Friday, January 25 customers at the local pubs can enjoy a guest ale, Inveralmond Bard from its brewery in Perth, two single malt whiskies, Glenmorangie and Glenfiddich, and Hendrick's gin.

Additionally, the pub will be serving haggis neeps and tatties, as well as a Caledonian Burger - which can be included in good deals with selected drinks.

The West Kirk bar manager, Amy Mollison, said: “Burns’ Week is always great fun and our customers enjoy the fact that we celebrate for a week rather than just one day.”
