Last week the Ayr Advertiser reported on the new initiative from Troon dental practice who are offering free dental treatments for local fishermen.
The first day of the scheme was a great success with members of the fishing community coming to get their teeth checked by specialist dentist Chris Grant.
Mission Superintendent Paula Daly said: “We’re really pleased with how it went on Friday and so were the fishermen who came for treatment. One local man hadn’t been to the dentist since primary school. He had two extractions and was delighted!
“We hope to see more patients at the next clinic on Friday 11th January 2019 and will be doing all we can do to spread the word to fishermen and their families in the meantime.”
