FOSTERPLUS in Ayr is making Christmas a little brighter and warmer for children over the festive season.

Staff and carers from Fosterplus, who provide suitable families for looked after children, filled boxes with gifts to give to local charities in the area.

Donations included a variety of toys for all ages, books, art materials, toiletries, jewellery, make up and clothing and were collected by Women’s Aid and The Lochside Outreach Mission this week, to enable local children to have a happier Christmas.

Sharon Telfer, Fosterplus’s Service Manager said: “We’ve been looking for a local charity to support and Women’s Aid and The Lochside Outreach Mission are beneficial charities that fit well with foster care and our visions and values.

“We wanted to give something back to the communities and make a difference to the lives of children, living in and around the town.”

Fosterplus is an independent fostering agency. They are part of Partnerships in Children’s Services (PICS). The organisation currently takes care of over 400 children across Scotland, the South East, Midlands, North West and Yorkshire.
