SCOTTISH culture came to the floor when schools from across South Ayrshire took part in a special dance event.

The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS) staged a day of dance in Troon Concert Hall.

Participating were: Annbank, Barassie, Colmonell, Grammar Ayr, Dundonald, Holmston, Kirkmichael, Monkton, Muirhead, St Cuthbert's, Maybole, St Patrick's, Troon, Straiton, Struthers, Tarbolton and Troon Primary Schools.

They danced to the Gay Gordons, A Reel for Jeannie, Britannia Two Step, A Highland Welcome, Virginia Reel, Canadian Barn Dance, Copycat, The Waratah Weaver, Dashing White Sergeant and The Flying Scotsman.

Ayr Branch Committee of the RSCDS would like to thank all the dancers, teachers, parents and helpers for making this such an enjoyable event. They run classes for all ages across the community.
