AYR Rugby Club hosted a hugely successful fireworks display at Millbrae on Friday night.

Good weather helped significantly in bringing out huge numbers of the public.

There was a great family atmosphere, with carnival rides organised by Billy Hammond of Showtime, while Sharma Street Foods provided the evening’s delicious catering and Silvana’s Ices Cream van was also on hand.

Ayr RFC ladies provided tea and coffee as well as light up novelties and a tuck-shop was organised by the Ayrmini-section. A gate collection was organised for the Ayrshire Hospice.

Music was provided byrenowned DJ Stefan Janik.

The bonfire was lit at 6.30pm and the first fireworks went off at 7.20pm, fired by the pyro-technic partners Fantastic Fireworks.

Thanks also go to Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Burns Cottage for allowing the use of their car-parks which helped greatly with traffic management.

Finally a huge thank you to the small army of volunteers who made everything run smoothly.

Organisers are also indebted to main sponsor ABC mobile baby scanners.
