STAGECOACH has announced proposed timetable changes that could affect several bus routes across Ayrshire.

The bus company invited customers and community groups to attend a public information day surrounding the new plans they aim to put in place in January next year.

Customers were encouraged to attend the event to provide feedback on bus timetable proposals.

Stagecoach feel it is important for members of the community to share their opinions whether they are in support of the revised timetables, highlighting concerns or voicing general suggestions.

Customers could also share their opinions by filling in a short online survey or on bus survey forms.

Fraser Smith, Commercial Director, Stagecoach West Scotland said: “We value the views of the local community and want to give our customers the opportunity to share their thoughts on the proposed service changes.

“Our aim is to provide better, more efficient and more reliable services to our customers.”

A number of the proposed changes will deliver improvements for customers through improved reliability and frequency, while others will offer a service proportionate to demand.

Proposed changes will affect the following services: 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 14/14A, X16, X17, 42/X42 and X77.

The information day took place on Monday October 29 at Ayr Town Hall.

Leaflets explaining the changes will be available on-board buses, at Ayr bus station and online at
