AN Ayr local has been announced as a finalist for the Young Scot Awards 2018 for his charitable community work.
Dylan Harper, 22, has been nominated in the Community category which recognised his inspirational work as a youth worker and leader of the Lochside Mission and Outreach charity which helps feed school children in disadvantaged areas of Ayr.
Lochside Mission began its own meals service last year, winning praise for its work with more than 500 families.
Dylan has been instrumental in driving forward the Lochside Mission and Outreach ‘Spark’ and ‘Inspire’ programmes, community youth work mentoring projects which aims to help young people reach their potential through one-to-one mentoring relationships.
The ceremony is on November 30.
