A SUCCESSFUL campaign to fund the final phase of lighting up Troon is on the verge of being completed.

Troon Business Association recently announced in the Troon Times that they needed £2600 of the £3600 total.

However since then donations have been pouring in and now only around £1000 remains to be secured.

The big switch on will be at the Wintertainment Festival on Sunday, November 18.

Organiser Donna Reid said: "We need to raise £3600 and at the moment we are sitting on around £2500. We have £1000 to go and six weeks to raise that. Our Crowdfunder is sitting at £1500.

"This year we will have new lights in Church Street and all the other ones will go back in too."
