A MAN climbed in the window of an ex-partner’s home and threatened to kill her.

Jason Chambers of Heather Park, Ayr pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner towards his ex-partner and her flatmate.

He was found to have climbed into the property through an insecure window when his ex-partner was not present.

He was also found to have approached her flatmate in the kitchen when she was unaware of him being there before directing threats of violence towards her.

Procurator Fiscal MrSheeran, told the court: “On July 8, Jason Chambers entered the home and went to the kitchen area. While in the kitchen he appeared drunk and the witness was frightened by his presence. He said ‘If she comes home I will kill her’ and continued to shout and swear.”

A phone call was then made to Chambers’ ex-partner who heard arguing leading her to contact the police.

Later, Chambers was found to be hiding near a primary school before being questioned by police.

Mr Sheeran added: “The witness was upset and appeared to be crying.”

Defending Chambers, solicitor Mr Gallagher said: “He is 28 and in full time employment.

"He had consumed a significant quantity of alcohol.

“He made the unwise decision and attended the property and entered through the window. He makes me aware this was done through a previous arrangement.

“He is not someone that drinks terribly often. His relationship had ended andthere is no hope of it being reconciled.”

Sheriff D Young QC said: “The report indicates that you are remorseful, but I do consider there are matters that need to be addressed, your relationship with alcohol and how you deal with this."

Sheriff Young allowed bail to continue with a review in three months. Chambers is required not to enter the street where his ex-partner lives.
