POLICE are looking for two suspects who assaulted a man in his car in the early hours of Thursday morning, September 27 on Whitletts Road, Ayr near Tesco.

The 20-year-old victim was punched in the face before his attackers demanded he hand over his car keys. He then tried to drive off with the two suspects still in pursuit banging on his windscreen.

Police officers attended after the attack at 12.40am but the man did not require any hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Paul McRoberts said: “While the man did not require medical assistance, he has been left badly shaken by the unprovoked level of violence.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us. Any small piece of information could prove vital in helping us locate the men responsible for this attack so please do contact us with any information.”

Police have described the first suspect as white, approximately, 6ft tall, in his mid-20s, with a slim build, shor t dark hair and an unkempt beard. He was wearing a bobble hat, dark, shiny fitted jacket with dark grey jogging trousers and black training shoes with a white trim.

The second suspect is said to be white, approximately 5 ft 10, mid-20s and a slim build, short dark hair and dark stubble. He was wearing a dark blue zipper top with a white logo on the left side, light grey jogging trousers and dark training shoes.
