MORE than 430 runners took part in this year’s Ayrshire Hospice Colour Dash.

The event, on Sunday, September 9, was held for the very first time at Ayr’s Rozelle Estate, with support from charity partner South Ayrshire Council.

With seven sponsored colour stations on the route, all runners were showered in a vibrant rainbow of colour by the end of the race and a few sporadic rain showers didn’t even manage to dampen anyone’s spirits.

Each colour station was eagerly manned by different local sponsors as well as friends and volunteers of the hospice, who ensured that every participant received a dash of bright colour all along the route.

For the multi-coloured finale, participants had a chance to take on an inflatable mini assault course before facing the final pink Ayrshire Hospice colour station manned by the hospice senior management team.

Mary Drummond, Assistant Fundraising Manager at the Ayrshire Hospice said: “This year’s Colour Dash turned out to be a great success, with lots of participants enjoying a fun, active day out, and all for a great cause.

“We’d like to say big thanks to South Ayrshire Council who helped us to find a suitable location for the event, as well as all of the supporting sponsors, including Halls of Scotland, Tesco Stores Ayrshire, Tunnocks, Arnold Clark, Booth Welsh, Rainbow Services, Ayrshire Post and NATS.

"Special thanks to Mauchline Scout Group, West FM, Robertson’s Fine Foods, Braehead Foods and all supporting companies, organisations, volunteers and individuals for generously supporting this event.

“To all our runners/walkers, thank you again for joining us for another fantastic year. We hope to have raised a fantastic amount.”
