TROON Library’s Chatterbooks is a book club for 8-11 year olds.
They meet once a month to chat about the books they have been reading and are also involved in book-related activities.
At a recent session attended by our photographer, they were making up new stories using the first lines of other randomly-selected books and playing musical book chairs.
The Chatterbooks group allows children to build a lifelong reading habit. At each Chatterbooks session children talk about what they are reading, take part in fun activities inspired by the best children’s books, and choose new books to take home and read.
Recent books read have been Wonder by RJ Palacio and Dragon’s Green by Scarlett Thomas.
