A MAN was found seriously injured after an attempted murder in Ayr.
On Sunday, August 12 a 54-year-old was discovered by family member at an address in Craigie Avenue at around 5.30pm.
He was taken by ambulance to Ayr Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as critical but stable.
It is unclear how the victim came about his injuries and extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and the movements of the victim - detectives are appealing for information following the incident.
Detective Sergeant Barry Walker from Ayr CID said: “The victim was found seriously injured within his home and it is vital that we establish what happened to him and identify the person or persons responsible for this serious crime.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Craigie Avenue over the weekend and may have heard a disturbance, or noticed anyone behaving suspiciously, to please get in touch.
