A £300,000 resurfacing project will see a weekend of closure on the A77.

From Friday, August 24 to Monday, August 27, the northbound carriageway between Sandyford Toll Roundabout and Dutch House Roundabout will have a full road closure due to the ‘nature’ and ‘extent’ of the proposals the work requires to be undertaken.

All of the A77 northbound traffic during this period of roadworks will be diverted at Whitletts Roundabout via Heathfield Road, Ayr Road, Prestwick Main St, Monkton Road, A79 to Monktonhead Roundabout A78 to Dutchhouse Roundabout.

A spokesperson for Scotland Transerv, said: “Due to an opening in our surfacing programme we have an opportunity to bring forward the delivery of a £300,000 resurfacing project on the A77 northbound carriageway.

“Due to the nature and extent of the proposals the work requires to be undertaken under a full closure of the A77 northbound carriageway at this location commencing at 8pm on Friday, August 24 through to 6am on Monday, August 27.

“A77 southbound traffic will not be affected.

“Local access will be permitted as far as Sandyford Toll Roundabout and Emergency Services will be permitted through the works at all times.”
