THE annual Ayrshire Commercial Vintage Vehicle Club Road Run travelled through Cumnock and Doon Valley on Saturday, July 7.

A static display was held at Ayr Low Green on the morning of the run before the trucks, tractors and coaches headed on their way.

A stop for lunch followed at Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park and the vehicles set off again for their destination – Portpatrick on the Irish Sea coast.

The 2018 run was held in memory of former club member Robert Laidlaw.

A spokesperson for the Ayrshire Commercial Vintage Vehicle Club said: “This year we are dedicating the Robert Laidlaw Memorial Road Run 2018 to the memory of one of the original founder members, who sadly passed away earlier in the year after 20 years involvement with the event.”
