A MAN was airlifted to hospital after falling down a 60ft gully.
The Coastguard Rescue Helicopter from Prestwick Airport was called as part of a multi-agency operation following a man in his 50s falling down a gully in Cumnock – it is understood that had been cutting trees at the time of the incident.
He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital – initially there were fears that the man was seriously injured but it is understood that he will make a full recovery, despite sustaining several broken bones.
All branches of the emergency services were tasked to the callout including specialist resources including the Rope Rescue Team from the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service,and Police Mountain Rescue.
