A GIANT balloon depicting Donald Trump as a baby has been refused permission to be flown over Turnberry Golf Course.

Police Scotland refused a request for the 20ft high balloon to take to the skies over Trump Turnberry during the US Presidents time in the UK – it was given permission to fly over central London during his visit.

Thousands of people signed a petition urging police and Scottish ministers to grant similar permission for Turnberry.

Police said the blimp would ‘not be allowed’ at the course due to an ‘air exclusion zone’ being in place during the president’s time in South Ayrshire, but they would be ‘happy to discuss other options’ for the balloon – leaving open the possibility that is could be flown at one of the protests against Mr Trump’s visit, which are being held across Scotland.

The 45th President is due to touch down in Scotland tomorrow.
