FIVE Border Collie puppies were found abandoned in a shed.
The puppies, who were taken to the Scottish SPCA’s rehoming centre in Ayr and are said to be in “good bodily condition”, were discovered in Sandhead, near Stranaer. Staff at the centre in Ayr have named the puppies Skye, Arran, Barra, Ailsa and Iona.
The chairty’s Insp Paul Tuchewicz described leaving the puppies “alone and frightened” was an “incredibly cruel act”.
He said: “We are very keen to trace the person who left these puppies alone and frightened.
“They were hungry when they were found but are in good bodily condition.
"They’re all beautiful puppies and we’re sure there will be no shortage of people wanting to offer them a new home. If anyone can help us trace the person who owned them we would urge them to come forward.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact the SSPCA on 03000 999 999.
