AN AYR couple have expressed their gratitude to residents who helped find their missing dog.
At around 3pm on Wednesday, June 13, Maisey the Cockerpoo, was being walked by her owners at Irvine Beach, when she went missing.
With over 1000 users on Facebook sharing the post about her absence, the power of social media sparked an Ayrshire wide search for the 14-month-old pup with residents from Irvine and afar looking for her.
Maisey’s owner, Ian McLaughlin, explained: “She went missing from Irvine Beach Park and we had put a post on Facebook.
“She had been spotted three or four times and she kept going back to the same spot.
“With the weather we had over the past couple of days - once that had quietened down, she came back to the same spot and we managed to catch her.
“People from Irvine and the surrounding areas helped us look for her and volunteer’s from Lost Dogs Glasgow came down to help as well.
“Between them and the volunteers, we would have never have got Maisey back so we can’t thank everyone who helped enough.”
