PROCEEDS from the Prestwick Rotary’s Annual Golf AMAM has been donated to support the local Cancer Research branch.

Some £1000 was given to the charity, who was one of the two main beneficiaries of this year’s Annual Prestwick Rotary Golf AMAM that was held at Prestwick Golf Club.

The event attracted 68 golfers from local businesses this year with the purpose of having fun, fellowship and raising funds for charity, which was a “highly successful event”.

As the main sponsor, Buzzworks works with the Rotary Club of Prestwick to nominate one of the two main beneficiary charities.

Debi Bradford, Customer Relations Manager at Buzzworks, who assisted the Rotary Club at the donation handover explained that it was the staff who selected the recipient and they are “delighted” to nominate Cancer Research UK as the beneficiary of the Rotary Club’s tournament this year.

Local Cancer Research UK Branch Chair, Ruby Taylor said: “We are delighted to receive this very generous donation. It is a great boost to our funds and every penny goes towards cutting edge research into cancer.”

Richie Cameron, President of the Rotary Club of Prestwick added: “It is great to be part of three local organisations working together to support the common good.

“In addition to Buzzworks and Prestwick Golf Club we would also like to thank all the local advertisers and sponsors for their great support.”
