A RARE opportunity to take up free golf this summer at Maybole Golf Course has surfaced.

From Friday, June 1 to Friday, July 13 those who are interested can try this attractive nine hole parkland course while enjoying uninterrupted views of the Carrick Hills.

The course also features a practice facility and putting green which will also be free to use during the six week period. Clubs can be borrowed subject to availability and a deposit.

Councillor Brian McGinley, Economic Development, Tourism and Leisure Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said: “We’re using our facilities to give as many people as possible access to leisure. Being active is a great way to improve health and wellbeing so I hope people in Maybole and beyond get involved and feel the benefit.”

Those who are interested in trying golf at Maybole for free, rounds can be booked by calling (01292) 616 255 or by checking in at Maybole Swimming Pool reception.

For anyone looking to take up the sport, Get Into Golf Membership combines access to council golf courses with a package of coaching specifically for beginners for just £112 for seven months.
