AYR Action for Mental Health are teaming up with Ayr Central and setting up a ‘Less Stress’ Cafe in the middle of the shopping centre.

The aim is to promote talking about mental health at any location. The pop up cafe which runs to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week 2018, will be open daily from Wednesday, May 16 until Friday, May 18 from 12pm - 3pm. Shoppers are being invited to stop by to take a break from their day and have a chat.

Staff from the charity will be at the Ayr Central ‘Less Stress’ Cafe, in Ayr town centre, to encourage people to get advice on having good mental health.

They will be giving tips on looking after your mental health while working, studying and being at home; giving information on their services in Ayrshire and the support they give and telling people about activities in the community that can support someone’s wellbeing.

Graham Wight, Ayr action for Mental Health commented: “Mental Health Awareness Week is a great focal point to take a step towards being more aware and thinking about ways in which they can look after their own wellbeing as well as that of friends, colleagues and neighbours.”
