AS part of their 50th anniversary Gaberlunzie will be playing at Girvan's Queens Hotel in a charity concert.

On Friday, May 18 they will be hosting a fundraiser for Spring Back, the anti-bullying charity based at Girvan Town House, at 7.30pm.

It has been one year since Spring Back launched and they have had a 100 per cent success rate so far. On Friday, May 18 South Ayrshire Provost Helen Moonie will launch the event.

Spring Back was set up by Malcolm and Anne Kelly after their family was put through a two and a half year ordeal of bullying - and they found themselves passed from pillar to post through social work, council and police.

Anne explained: "We are really excited to have the support of Gaberlunzie who are celebrating their 50th anniversary.

"We have been operating in the Town House for more than one year and want to help anyone who needs us. Provost Helen Moonie will launch the celebration night.

"MP Bill Grant will be coming to speak as will cllr Alec Clark among others."

Robin Watson and Gordon Menzies have been together as Gaberlunzie since the early 1970s and are well known for producing an exciting blend of modern and traditional songs.

They have been touring across Scotland since January and made an appearance at Wellington's Bar, Ayr in January.

They have further concert dates this summer and will be back in Ayr on June 10 and Monkton on October 20,
