A PRESTWICK man completed the London Marathon last week raising over £1000 for a local charity.
Bobby Miller completed the 26.2 mile course in 4 hours 42 minutes on Sunday, April 22, bringing in £1,600 for Hansel.
He said: “It was extremely hot, and it was hard to keep going at times, people were dropping like flies around the 16-mile mark.
“The spectators were amazing though, they covered every single bit of the route and were three or four deep in some parts. They really cheered us on and gave us jelly babies and oranges. The atmosphere was amazing, and I am so glad I had the chance to do it.
“I would like to thank all the kind people who sponsored me, the money will be put to very good use by Hansel who do such great work in the Ayrshire community.”
Sheila McLean, Hansel Fundraising Manager, added: “Bobby did an amazing job on Sunday and has been a great ambassador for Hansel in the run up to the big day, attending charity events and taking his fundraising message out to the local community.
“It would be fantastic if people could show their appreciation for all his hard work and make a small donation, every little bit helps!”
