Resurfacing is to take place shortly on the A77 near Auchenblane.

As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management plan, Scotland TranServ will deliver the final resurfacing scheme of six for the A77.

Work to resurface 600 metres of carriageway will run from 8pm on Friday, April 27 until 6am on Monday, April 30, with subsequent overnight closures on Monday and Tuesday (May 1).

Darren Mitchell, Scotland TranServ’s Design Engineer said: “This £150k project will mark the culmination of six schemes to resurface the A77 this spring.

“We have been working closely with the local communities, councils, Police Scotland and other key stakeholders to carefully schedule these projects, for minimal disruption.”

Due to the limited available road width of the A77 in this area, diversion routes will be put in place.

Motorists – and ferry passengers – in particular, have been advised to allow plenty of extra time for their journey.

These diversions include: Southbound diversion - A77 closed at Maybole, divert via B7023 Culzean Road connecting with the A719 through Maidens to Turnberry and Northbound diversion - A77 Closed at Turnberry, divert via A719 to Ayr, rejoining A77 at Whitletts Roundabout.
