A YOUNG woman, who was diagnosed with depression two years ago, is organising her next charity night for SAMH.

Caitlyn Nutt, from Ayr, raised more than £1,200 from her black tie fundraiser at the Parkstone Hotel in Prestwick in October last year.

In April 2017, the 19-year-old also raised some £550 from her charity skydive. Now Caitlyn is arranging a quiz night Glenburn Miners Club, in Prestwick, next month.

Caitlyn said: “Its been almost two years since I was diagnosed with depression and I’m really dedicated to helping this charity now.

“There are one in four people who suffer from a mental health illness. I am one in four.

“So many young people have taken their own lives in the space of a few weeks. To think they thought that was their only option is heartbreaking.

“All money I raise from my events go directly to SAMH, helping those suffering with mental health illnesses and their families.

“Soon I hope schools receive a councillor for the kids and work places take mental health more seriously.

“You never know what is going on in someone’s mind, or when you’ll see someone last. Be kind, always.”

Tickets are £5 and all the money will go to SAMH.Visit www.facebook.com/events/650645655283763/?ti=icl for more information.
