PRESTWICK residents are becoming increasing frustrated with flooding and ‘filth’ coming from drains.

Previous complaints had been made to Scottish Water with the outcome of the company “fully acknowledging the significant inconvenience that flooding”.

However, a Prestwick resident, wrote on social media that he was “fed up” with the “filth” that was coming from the drains in Grangemuir Road.

He said: “I am fed up with the filth that is coming from the drains in the Grangemuir Road car park. The drains are blocked solid all through the car park and in the turning area.

“People are trying so hard to get the promenade beach and gardens looking the part and we have [this] running across the full length of the car park and footpaths.

“The photo is as it looks this morning (Tuesday, March 6) - the drains in Maryborough Road are also blocked at the top of the road and have been again for months and now it’s breaking up the road surface due to continual flooding and then freezing.”
