IMAGINARY sun lotion was applied, sunglasses were dusted down and there was a night of relaxation ahead for a special evening organised by Troon Ladies Circle.

A group of 10 members of the organisation took in a performance of the musical Summer Holiday, which is based on the hit movie from the 60s starring Sir Cliff Richard and the Shadows, with Una Stubbs also featuring in the movie.

The show was performed by the Ayr Amateur Opera Company and helped recapture that feelgood period when young people were finding a voice and discovering freedom.

A spokeswoman for the group said: “It was a fantastic show and very entertaining. The cast and production were fantastic.

“We really enjoyed 9 to 5 last year also and look forward to their next show. Our ladies had a great time on another social night at Summer Holiday at the Gaiety in Ayr and well done to all the cast for a fantastic show.”

The musical proved to be a big hit with audiences  and was well publicised by the musical group.
