PRESTWICK Airport received an unusual visitor last week.
A N95NA NASA Gulfstream GV landed and departed from the airport on Wednesday, February 28, with NASA’s astronauts Joe Acaba and Mark Vande Hei.
Flying from Kazakhstan, en route to Houston, USA, the two astronauts from the International Space Station (ISS) landed in a Soyuz capsule shortly after sunrise in Kazakhstan.
They made the journey after five and a half months on the habitable artificial satellite.
A spokesperson for Prestwick Airtport, said: "On February 28, Prestwick Airport welcomed astronauts on their way back to Houston, USA after returning from the International Space Station.
"Glasgow Prestwick Airport’s fixed base operation handling service plays a vital role with the return mission of NASA astronauts to Houston."
