A PUPIL from Barassie Primary School has won the annual Road Safety calendar competition.
Tegan Nicol, from primary six, was awarded the title for her artwork that illustrates and encourages people to think about in-car safety and her winning design was selected from hundreds of entries from schools across South Ayrshire.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance’s Road Safety Team in partnership with Junior Road Safety Officers in each school, organised the competition, helping to spread the important road safety campaign message of in-car safety, wearing a seat belt and ensuring that car seats are fitted properly.
Cllr Ian Cochrane said: “Tegan’s done a great job highlighting in-car safety and I’d like to congratulate her for winning this competition with her imaginative design.
“We can all learn from Tegan - put safety first and be considerate to others. Take it slow when driving through local communities and at junctions and bends, and give others plenty of room.”
The free calendar is now available from the South Ayrshire Council offices.
