A MAN has been charged with crashing his vehicle into the barrier of the car park at UWS while he was four times the limit.
It is claimed that at 5.05am on Saturday, January 6 at University Avenue, Ayr, a 25-year-old man was trying to drive a black Ford Fiesta into the crash barrier at the university.
The Ayr Advertiser Series understands he was driving in an erratic manner and caused damage to the barricade as well.
Police have said a member of the public had contacted them about the alleged incident. Officers attended and traced the man.
It is believed he failed the roadside breath test, was arrested and taken back to the police station where it is claimed he blew four times the legal limit. The man has been released and was released on an undertaking.
