THE NEW Combined Assessment Unit at Ayr Hospital officially open its doors, with five assessment spaces, 12 ambulatory care spaces, two out-patient rooms and 29 single en-suite rooms.

A boy was pulled out from the River Ayr by an anonymous hero after he had slipped on the embankment of the River Ayr near to Holmston Road in the morning of May 24 - luckily, a passerby, who was known to be a sports student at the University of the West of Scotland, bravely jumped in and saved the youngster.
