CATERING staff at St John’s Primary School in Ayr have been given a national awarded for hygiene.
The school has been unveiled as the latest to land a coveted Eat Safe Award, for going above and beyond the legal requirements.
Ian Cochrane, South Ayrshire Council’s Sustainability & the Environment said the recognition was well deserved.
He said: “We’re committed to giving our children the best start in life and delivering nutritious meals at school is something we take great pride in.
“I’d like to congratulate all the staff at St John’s for their achievement in landing this latest award, something that shows just how seriously we take our responsibilities in food preparation in our schools.”
Other schools who have the awards include primaries - Alloway, Ayr, Barassie, Coylton, Doonfoot, Forehill, Glenburn, Heathfield, Monkton and Muirhead, and secondary schools Marr College and Prestwick, Kyle, Girvan, Queen Margaret, Belmont and Carrick Academies.
