A NEW initiative will launch this week to allow musicians to showcase their talent at Ayr Central.

A partnership has been established between South Ayrshire Cultural Planning and Costa Ayr Central to put on live music every Wednesday throughout December.

Local Musician Flew the Arrow Aka Lee McGilvray will be joined by Kelsey Jones and Kathryn O’Hare to kick off the first live music session.

Laura Waters who is organising the event on behalf of South Ayrshire Cultural Planning explained why she is excited for these events.

Laura said: “I am really excited that we have the opportunity to put on live music events locally especially over the Christmas period.

“It is a great way to promote
these artists and it allows the public to enjoy some excellent music while they
take a break from their Christmas shopping.

“South Ayrshire Cultural Planning asked me if I would live to be involved in organising these events and I couldn’t say no.

“I have always enjoyed attending live music gigs and it plays a huge part in my life.

“I have been involved in organising various events in Ayr and hopefully there will be many more come.”

Shanna who is signed to Ayrshire College music label Sun Turtle Records and has recently had a single out on iTunes called Survivors, will take to the stage.

Luca Grant, Cameron Smith and Barry Thomson will also be performing at the events.

The live music events will be from 4.30pm-6pm on Wednesday, December 13, 20 and 27 December at Costa Ayr Central.
