A PENSIONER lost her life in a road crash on the A77 near Girvan on Thursday.
The 67-year-old woman has been named as Mary Kerr McMurray Fullton, of Girvan.
She was pronounced dead at the scene after a lorry was in collision with the Skoda Yeti she was driving.
The lorry was being driven southbound on the A77 near to Girvan at 12.25pm on Thursday, November 23 when the incident occurred.
Emergency services attended and the driver of the lorry was taken by ambulance to Ayr Hospital.
They were released a short time later.
A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Sergeant Cat Gibbons from the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Irvine
Police Office said: “Extensive enquiries are continuing today into the cause of the crash.
“At this time, I would appeal to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, to come forward.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving on this road between Turnberry and Girvan shortly before the crash happened, who may have seen the vehicles involved, to contact us, as they may have information that will help this enquiry.”

The woman’s family are asking for privacy at this time.
