KYLE Academy won an award at the fifth annual Scottish Fair Trade Awards.
Fair Trade campaigners, businesses and supporters came together to celebrate the the event, that took place at St. Mirin’s Cathedral in Paisley.
The school were presented with the Fair Trade and Climate Change award by Councillor Ian Cochrane and Director of Energy Agency, Liz Marquis.
This new award recognised groups who are taking action to raise awareness of the links between Fair Trade and combatting climate change.
Anne McGonigle, communications officer for Energy Agency, said: “Kyle Academy were given the title and they are a group of hard-working and committed individuals who have achieved Fair Achiever status for their school twice.
“They have also helped the school to achieve the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award, as well as winning the Gold Medal of South Ayrshire’s Provost Footprint Challenge with their co-operative work with the school’s eco group.”
