A PUPIL at Struthers Primary School created a news report on the MacMillan coffee morning that took place at the school last week.
Pupil, Lucy Woods, won the challenge.
The report reads: “On Friday September, 29, Struthers Primary School held their own MacMillan coffee morning run by Primary 7. Parents were invited to a feast of home baking, coffee and conversation. Meanwhile the pupils were encouraged to bring in money to buy delicious cakes and give a donation to MacMillan.
“MacMillan Cancer Support is a charity that gives valuable help to families affected by cancer. To organise the event, P7 was set to task preparing games, advertising and setting up a beautiful display of delightful cakes, enough to feed a giant.
"Pupils were responsible for selling cakes, handling money and fabulous entertainment. At the end of the fun filled day the money was counted and we were amazed at the total of £1023.55.
“Struthers Primary would like to thank everyone who donated cakes, money and their time to help support this fantastic cause.”
