ST PATRICK’S Primary in Troon were showered in the colour red to show racism the red card.
On Friday, October 6, all of the pupils came together in an assembly to show that racism can be beaten.
A spokeswoman for the school, said: “The children had a great day – they were all dressed in red to embrace the event.
“We had our campus cop come and give the children a talk as well.”
Show Racism the Red Card is the UK’s anti-racism educational charity which was established in 1996.
In a statement from the charity, it says: “We aim to combat racism through enabling role models, who are predominately but not exclusively footballers, to present an anti-racist message to young people and others.
“Show Racism The Red Card acknowledges that racism changes, as do the experiences of Black and Minority Ethnic communities in the UK. Our message and activities therefore need to be able to respond to such changes as and when appropriate.”
