IT has been revealed that BAE Systems Regional Aircraft at Prestwick will not suffer from the job cuts that was announced today by the firm.
BAE Systems plans axe almost 2,000 jobs in military, maritime and intelligence services.
In a statement from the company, a spokeswoman said: “There is no impact to our workforce on the Clyde.
“BAE Systems continually reviews its operations to make sure we are performing as effectively and efficiently as possible, delivering our commitments to existing customers and ensuring we are best placed to secure future business.
“We are committed to communicating with our employees and their representatives first.”
The company is currently based at Prestwick Airport and employs around 250 people.
