It’s the final week of this year’s Music on the Prom Girvan which once again has been deemed a great success.

Sunday saw hundreds flock to the town for the event, which is now in its sixth year, to watch and listen to the Men of Motown.

Bill Logan, who organised the event with the Girvan Youth Trust, said: “Music on the Prom is continuing to grow in multiple directions and ever increasing higher levels in regards to attendance figures and positive feedback from local community and visitors.

“We are now attracting a weekly attendance of in excess of 300 to the event, with many of the regulars travelling from Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Dumfries and Galloway area just for the event.

“This support is testimony to the professional standard of the musicians and bands that have supported us this year and indeed over the past six years that we have been running Music on the Prom.

“This week’s act is Men of Motown with Hotel Caledonia / Eagles tribute band bringing this year’s 11 week programme to a close on Sunday, August 27.

“Music on the Prom with music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s runs from 1-5pm with the live band sessions taking place between 3-4pm.”

Throughout the summer the group have organised children’s entertainers on Tuesday afternoons, children’s games and activities on Thursday afternoons, and opening times for the Boating Pond.

Hotel Caledonia/Eagles tribute band will bring the fun to a close this Sunday.
