BRAVE supporters of #BUYMSH took part in the charity's very first zip slide across the Rover Ayr on Saturday.

Among the participants were MP Bill Grant, who was one of the first to take part, local police and other charity supporters.

The Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra entertained provided from 9.30am and cheered on those who took part at 12.30pm on Saturday, June 17.

'Zippers' as young as 10 to as old as 84 took part including 82 year-old Sylvia Pitt who showed everyone how to rock a zipslide.

Speaking on their facebook page the organisers said: "The #BUYMSH team were super busy today with the Zipslide, HolyFair and Dobbies. They were all successful fun events with a great bunch of volunteers.

"We're very chuffed - None of this would be possible without the community support, thank you. Well done to Ayr MP Bill Grant who was one of the first down the zipslide.

"It was awesome; great weather, good fun, fantastic atmosphere, wonderful wonderful people and loads of adrenaline. We even managed to coax the local police to zip across.

"We want to say a massive thanks to our team of volunteers. Thanks to Wallace Galbraith at Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra, to Tesco in Ayr for the bananas & water, and to the Irn Bru team for the refreshments. You were all stars."
