TRAVELLERS have been spotted on Seafield Green opposite Seafield Road in Ayr.
One resident saw several of their caravans arrive last Tuesday evening where they have remained. Our photographer took this picture on Monday morning.
South Ayrshire Council have said they need to speak to the land owner before they can try and move them on.
David Burns, Head of Housing and facilities, said: "We are working to identify the owners of the land as they would need to initiate legal proceedings to move the travellers on.
"In the meantime we are liaising with the group to ensure they have refuse sacks to help minimise litter."
Travellers are frequently seen around Ayrshire during the summer months. They were believed to be camping at Greenan last month and stayed at Prestwick Oval last year.
There has been mixed reaction regarding the issue. Some locals feel that as long as they tidy up after themselves they are not a problem while others are concerned and want them to leave.
As we went to press there were no updates on the situation and we believe the group still to be occupying Seafield Green.
